The 2013 Aspire Business Case Competition has turned out to be the most successful event we have held since we started. We are absolutely amazed at the level of enthusiasm, and support for the event. As you may know, this event was purely built on people willing to volunteer their time and effort to make this happen. Hearing all the wonderful compliments means the absolute world to us.

Practise your networking skills at coop's networking event! It will be held on June 14th. It's open to all students at 4:30. The first hour is for current BUSM 2300 students.

Organizations attending:

Active Network, Small Business BC, Davidson & Company, Chartered Accountants, Fundamental Research Corp, Support Services Unlimited and Randstad Staffing.

Active Network and Fundamental Reseach Corp. have positions for students about to graduate.

Want to compete this summer in a case competition?

SFU Surrey is hosting their annual Social Entrepreneurship Challenge (SEC) in June. This competition is open to all schools and is like no other as students are not provided with a case. Instead, they are asked to create a product or a service with a seed fund of $100 and create some sort of positive social impact while raising funds for 3 preselected African Entrepreneur's projects.

The OC has also partnered with AIESEC SFU and SFU Global Agents to create an info session on May 19, 2012 where there will be a 2-3 hour simulation of this competition. Groups of 3 will go through this simulation, and by the end, should have a general idea of what type of project they would take on if they were to participate in this challenge. This would be a great opportunity for you to learn more about the competition.

Our Royal Roads team (Andy Chou, Erik Wong, Arthur Young, and Chris Vincent) was placed in the top 5 teams in the Royal Roads International Case Competition. They beat the likes of Richard Ivey School of Business, Queens University, Simon Fraser, HEC Montreal, and more.

Congratulations to everyone. We have placed Langara solidly on the map

Congratuations to our teams, they both did very well in the BC Simulation Competition!

Junior Team: Brent Lin, Tommy Zhao, Tamara Klein, and Gary Chan. They won First place in 7 out of 9 catagories of their division, Second and Third in the other 2 catagories.

Senior Team: Jonathan Road, Emma Leigha Munro, Matthew Kwok, and Saeed Warsame. They won an individual gold in their divsion!

The LCC is proud to announce our first fundraising event! The Whole Planet Foundation Fundraiser!

During March, we will be holding fundraisers around the Langara Campus for the Whole Planet Foundation, a nonprofit organization built to provide microcredit loans for developing-world communities.

All proceeds and donations will go towards the Whole Planet Foundation.
