Langara Competitions Club aims to be the central hub for all students that want to compete in business competitions representing the school. Below is a continually updated list, so bookmark this page to see the latest competition events that you can join!
If you are interested in representing our school at any of these competitions, contact us and we will arrange an assessment between you and the faculty. It is also highly recommended that you join any internal business competitions at the school as this will greatly increase your chances in getting selected.
Note: We are the only LSM sponsored Club that can do this. If you are selected by the faculty to attend these competitions, they will in most cases be able to arrange any necessary entry fees, accomodation and food costs, provided that you actually compete.
Vanier B.D.C Case Competition
Where: Vanier College, Montreal
When: Febuary 8-10, 2013
Format: 3 hour Case Study Competition
Team Size: 3 Students Per Team

Held in Montreal during the beginning of February, The Vanier BDC Case Competition is one of the fastest growing competitions in Canada. In 2012, there was over 30 universities and colleges that competed. In the final round, an actual business wrote the case study, so your ideas might actually materialize. Historically, Langara has done well for this case competition placing Top 6 and 5 in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Our LSM coach, Professor Stephane Guerraz, is specialized in producing strong teams for this particular competition. Food travel and accomodations are paid for by Langara School of Management.

Intercollegiate Marketing Case Competition (IMC)
Where: SFU, IMC 2013
When: February 22-23, 2013
Format: 3 hour Case Study Competition
Team Size: 3 Students Per Team
Coach: Don Hill, TBA

Held at SFU during February, IMC is Western Canada's largest undergraduate marketing case competition. It is a 3 hour case and comprises of three students per team. Most teams are from British Columbia but there are other North American teams such as, Washington, USA.

2013 Royal Roads University International Undergraduate Case Competition (RRUIUCC)
Where: Royal Roads University in Victoria B.C
When: April 4-6, 2013
Format: 3 hour Case Study Competition
Team Size: 4 Students Per Team

This one is a big one, and we're not just talking about the name. This competition is on the international scale and has over 19 Universities competing in it every year. Including top universities such as, Concordia, Queens, Wilfred Lauer, University of South Carolina, and many more. Typically reserved for students in their 3rd and 4th year, this competition is the true test of what you're graduating with. Suprisingly, Langara was ranked 5th out of over 19 renown schools on their initial debut in 2012. If you want to join this, be prepared to train hard and long. Food travel and accomodations are paid for by the Langara School of Management.
